ABOUT US

Carl Silverberg, President of Silverberg Associates, Inc., is a former investment banker, and Chief of Staff to a senior Democratic Member of Congress. He has been in campaign management and political consulting positions in congressional, gubernatorial and senatorial campaigns throughout the United States. Carl worked as a political consultant to Presidents and Presidential candidates in Central America, South America, Europe and is currently advising a President in Africa.

After the 1998 congressional campaign cycle, he formed Silverberg Associates, a firm that specializes in raising PAC contributions for Members of Congress and challengers. By combining his extensive political consulting background with his background as an investment banker, clients routinely out raise their opponents by at least a 4:1 margin. As an example, Congressman Gary Ackerman's annual NY Deli Event is one of the most anticipated fundraisers in DC each year and consistently brings in over $150,000.

Two years ago, Mr. Silverberg decided to expand fundraising services with a west coast office and the firm now has three full time employees who continue from cycle to cycle. His primary responsibilities are setting the overall

fundraising strategy for incumbents and challengers as well as the political consulting for the international clients. Mr. Silverberg insists on handling most of the call time with incumbent Members.

Carl Silverberg is a frequent guest lecturer at universities is an occasional guest on television and radio talk shows and a frequent source for newspaper articles. He continues to contribute to professional magazines and newspapers and recently finished his first novel. Carl moved to the Seattle area in 2006 and commutes weekly from his home on Mercer Island to Washington, DC.

June Silverberg, senior partner in the firm is a former agricultural lobbyist whose insight into the legislative aspect of federal campaigns is crucial in targeting support for challengers. June worked in the corporate world before moving to Capitol Hill and has extensive campaign experience at both the federal and state level.

Before moving to the west coast, she lobbied for the National Corn Growers Association and directed their international trade and biotech efforts, coordinating the Association's effort on CAFTA and WTO. Previous to that, she held the position of Director of Corporate Development for the National Association of Wheat Growers with the additional responsibility of fundraising for their foundation and federal PAC.

Her in-depth understanding of the legislative process and her relationships with the PAC community enable her to find sources of contributions that usually are not explored. June has primary responsibility for managing the firm's challengers as well as the non-profits. One of the highlights of this last cycle was raising over $275,000 at an Al Gore event for one of our challengers.

Dan O’Brien is Vice President at Silverberg & Associates and brings to us an extensive knowledge of the campaign and interest group world. As Vice President Dan focuses on working with federal candidates, state candidates and PAC’s. Dan’s experience as a Regional Finance Director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee means he understands what it takes to run a successful campaign for Congress as well as how to manage several diverse projects at the same time. His primary responsibility while at the DCCC was to raise money from the Mid-Atlantic region of the country so that the Committee could disperse it to both incumbents and challengers.

Before going to the DCCC, Dan was the PAC and Political Representative for the National Association of Air Traffic Controllers. In this role Dan developed and managed NATCA’s $4 million PAC operation. A key part of his job centered on developing relationships with the numerous local leaders around the country and coordinating their myriad interests into a cohesive political effort. He had significant input into exactly how and where those PAC dollars were spent, something that required acute political analysis and insight.

Dan helps clients needing a grassroots perspective having worked as a field organizer in the 2003/2004 Presidential campaign of Senator Kerry and Edwards. As a measure of how good a job he did, he was sent to the key battle ground state (Ohio) to help turn out the vote for Senator Kerry.
